Funny how it works.
Distance isn’t just measured by kilometers or miles. Sometimes, it’s measured by the invitations missed for dinner dates and catch ups that are separated by months or years. Other times, distance is measured by the duration of the awkward silence during a call or by the number of times I’ve seen you but did not wave hello. Distance is tricky, for you can be sitting beside each other but still be miles apart. But the worst thing about distance is the inability to bridge the gap. The inability to send a message or answer a call, the inability to tell stories or reciprocate enthusiasm, and the inability to get over anxiety and say hello. Distance is tricky, but the trickiest part is how to cross the ocean for someone who is adamant to stay on the other side.
